THE PROUD BIRD WITH THE GOLDEN TAIL - In the early 60's Continental Airlines flew the British Viscount turbo-prop airliner into Clovis, New Mexico for a short while. Back then only a small metal fence separated the viewers from the taxi way and when this airliner taxied up to the gate, the sound of the turbo props was awesome and really impacted the small kid I was at the time. I created this image to remember that moment. I was sorry when Continental dropped the Proud Bird markings as I felt it really set them apart from other airlines.
