A big beautiful Boeing 727-200 airliner in Western Air Lines bold statement which showed off the 72 in a way no other carrier had. Even American's metal scheme was not as polished and pretty. A fitting tribute to have it flying into a western sunset. Even the word WESTERN still captures some of the spirit that suggest to "go west young man" and it was a perfect name for an airline. EAL captured everything east of "Old Miss", but Western claimed the west belonged to rugged folk, who loved their wild, untamed land. "Back east" was old America, but WESTERN held promise of a new life, and still does today.
"David, I was hired by Western in February 1987 as a Second Officer on the B-727 and have been looking for a print like this for some time. I believe it is outstanding. Your print will be hanging in the great room with pride bringing me many hours of enjoyment during my retirement years"
